Kevin is the founding member of the firm where he specializes in intellectual property law. He has been practicing for over twenty years including four-and-a-half years as a patent examiner at the USPTO, several years as an associate at law firms in the Washington, DC area, and over a dozen years as the sole in-house intellectual property (IP) counsel for a global technology company.
As in-house counsel, Kevin has created an entire patent portfolio consisting of U.S. and foreign patents and counsels company officers regarding IP matters. For example, he counsels company officers regarding patent and trademark infringement as well as invalidity matters. As a result, Kevin is sensitive to the perspective business clients bring to IP matters.
Kevin holds a masters degree in electrical engineering and an undergraduate degree in civil engineering so handles patent matters in a wide range of electrical, computer, electro-mechanical, and mechanical technologies. Additionally, he has extensive experience coordinating with attorneys in other countries to resolve international IP matters and obtain international patent and/or trademark protection. Kevin also prepares and prosecutes trademark applications before the USPTO for medium and small-sized companies some of which are listed on, or are to be listed on, the Amazon Brand Registry.
